Neuropsychiatric and non-pathological healthy conditions were annotated via UniProtKB coding of information.
2416 neuronal proteins were gathered, from which 765 are present in saliva. 85% of the neuronal proteins were initially considered as a possible disease state biomarker. Whilst 33% were considered as a possible biomarker of a mental health state or of neurotypical subjects. From those, only 13% were in fact identified, quantified and proposed as disease biomarkers and almost none as a biomarker of a mental health state or of neurotypical subjects.

MOdeLING.Vis comprehends 3 components: (i) Data Visualization, (ii) Data Exploration and (iii) Data Mining.
These components encompasses a data processing toolbox, which aims to i) implement and test a visualization software that allows for the interactive exploratory of information content embedded in multi-layered and multi-source data; and ii) service the scientific community by distributing, instructing and providing support to software users, i.e. researchers and clinicians.
